April finds inspiration for her art all aound us. Her illistrations of the sloths, penguin, eagles, and Eurasian Owl give life to the animals housed at the National Aviary of Pittsburgh.   
 
Butters the horse, Ophelia the pig, and the Guinea hen are of portraits of animals who live at Hope Haven which is a safe, lifelong home for neglected and abused farm animals in Pittsburgh, PA.
 
April is also drawn to animals in shelters and rescues, or one that are owned by the people that support those organizations. Many are mixed breeds, so she included the name of the breed that they look like to her or what their owners think they look like.
